Angela's Angels Care Center is the brainchild of a NYS Certified teacher with over 30 years' experience. Our full menu offers options for both general education and special education students, including:
-skills groups
-individualized and group tutoring and/or test prep
-homework help groups
-full-day small group sessions for school closings (including both school holidays and emergency school closures)
-evening child care small group sessions with movies and pizza
-"Mommy and Me" small group sessions
-toddler groups
-Early Intervention Special Instructor and CPSE SEIT services
-respite care for special needs children

Angela's Angels Care Center After-School Program combines education, tutoring, enrichment and skills development with interactive fun in a fully educationally-based program run by a certified, highly experienced educator with over 30 years of classroom experience in NYC and Yonkers Public Schools. This small, home-based program puts EDUCATION first.
The program includes individualized instruction for each child during the “homework help” portion of our time together. All homework will be completed under the supervision and assistance of the teacher. Students will be assisted in test prep and study skills. If students are assigned “projects” and/or papers by their classroom teachers, we will work on these projects and papers together during this after-school education program.
Additionally, children will learn much-needed skills such as conflict resolution, communication and social skills, problem solving, creativity, thinking outside the box, and many more. EVERYTHING we do is educationally based!
The program, while open to children from all school districts, follows the Valhalla Union Free School District calendar. The program is open on all days that the VUFSD opens in the morning. Whether it is a full day of school, a half day of school, an early dismissal or an early closing for any reason, this program opens immediately upon VUFSD dismissal, whatever time that happens to be, and remains open until 6pm (extended day available for an extra fee). Both general education and special education students from ages 4-12 will be accepted.
Angela's Angels Care Center After-School Program offers you many things that other After-Care Centers may not offer:
-a certified special education, reading, and elementary education teacher with over 30 years of classroom experience
-help completing homework assignments CORRECTLY and COMPLETELY
(It’s like getting a private tutor for your child included in the price of After Care!!!)
-assistance working on and completing long-term projects and papers
-assistance studying for tests
-the center is OPEN immediately following ANY VUFSD DISMISSAL... if schools have a half day, OR an emergency early dismissal, for ANY reason, even if it’s due to snow or poor weather conditions, parents will not have to scramble to find care for their child!!!
- FULL SNOW DAY (8am-6pm) packages available for an additional charge
-school holiday packages available for an additional charge
-extended day (past 6pm) packages available for an additional charge
-run by a caring educator with the ability to personalize care for each child in the program
-no screen time... instead children are engaged in outdoor play, and, in poor weather, board games, crafts, and interactive fun

Meet Angela
Angela was born and raised in the Bronx, and attended Herbert H. Lehman High School. After high school, she studied at NYU and St. John’s University, earning BS and MS degrees. She holds certification in Elementary Education (Nursery - 6th grade), Special Education (Kindergarten - 12th grade), Reading Specialist, and Educational Evaluation. She is well-versed in Behavior Management techniques and Skills Development (including but not limited to reading, writing, math and other subjects, as well as critical thinking, problem solving, communication skills and more). Angela married her husband Steve in 1999 and moved to Valhalla in 2002. Together they have two beautiful children: a 24-year-old daughter who works at Four Winds Hospital in Katonah, and is pursuing her graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling; and a 21-year-old son, who is an aspiring professional wrestler. Her husband has been a resident of Valhalla since he was a toddler, and recently retired from the Mt. Pleasant Highway Department. Her husband and both of their children attended Valhalla Schools from kindergarten through 12th grade.
Angela has had a successful and meaningful teaching career which spans over 30 years in NYC and Yonkers Public Schools. She has also held positions in the St. John’s University Reading Clinic, the Mt. Pleasant Cottage School, various camps, and has worked as a Special Instructor for the EI Program and continues to be a SEIT in the CPSE Program. She has a deep passion for and dedication to helping all children. She is soft spoken and kind with a loving heart, while maintaining firm standards and expectations for the behavior and success of the children in her care.
She has identified her purpose in life to be:
“to nurture, protect, value, support, appreciate and bring joy, success and happiness to all children, worldwide, through compassion, understanding and love.”
And she identifies her “why” as…
